Summary & Overview
Shantyshots was a small study project I originally did not intend on releasing, but with how it turned out, and how positive my peers were about it, I decided to anyways.
The goal of the class was to focus on the essentials, creating a simple 2D platformer that you then iteratively improved. I spent a lot of time researching and tweaking my character controller and camera system until it finally all felt perfect. I'd like to go into some of the steps I took to optimize the gameplay experience in this way on this very page.
